Zithromax is related to a class of antibiotics Macrolids and provides bacteriostatic antibacterial pharmacological action. Pharmacological properties of Zithromax target to reduction of bacteria production and to fast removal of serious infectious diseases symptoms.
Pharmacological action of Zithromax is observed in treatment of infectious diseases only, therefore Zithromax like any other antibiotic is ineffective against viral diseases.
Indications to Zithromax application:
- Infections of the respiratory tract (quinsy, scarlet fever, tonsillitis, sinusitis, pneumonia)
- Infections of the skin and soft tissues (dermatosis of different severity)
- Infections of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer, intestinal infections)
- Infections of the urino-genital system (pyelonephritis, urethritis, trachelitis, Lima disease, cystitis,)
Zithromax is a strong antibiotic, therefore before use the drug, treatment is to be co-ordinated with the doctor after complex clinical examination.
The dosage of Zithromax is indicated basing on full causes of disease.
- an average dosage of Zithromax in adults is 0,5-1 g once a day
- an average dosage of Zithromax in children is 5-10mg/kg once a day.
In correct application of Zithromax, taking into consideration all recommendation and contra- indications, a risk of adverse side-effect is low.
